Four to six issues per year.

With owning a copy of  "Complete UK anime guide UK-PAL by Geoff Cowie "1994\5. that would inform me that the reviews writen by Geoff Cowie, had first been printed in the SF Newszine Critical Wave, so off I went to find copies of those zines...!

Having found and paid for copies of 'Critical Wave' from e-bay, 5 issues, numbers 33 to 37;

 (33 November 1993, 34 March 1994, 35 May 1994, 36 July 1994, 37 August 1994).

Convention listings, and those UK Retail (VHS) Anime reviews writen by Geoff Cowie are there, as well as Geoff's thoughts on the Anime scene in the UK.

If confirmed!? will be the the UK's first University held Anime Convention! - dating back to June 1994.

Having first found an old computer printout, showing electronic correspondance in 1994, then finding an online archive of a Fanzine ( ANIMEJIN 4), and now owning issues of the SF Newszine 'Critical Wave' that also printed details, I feel safe to publish it to its own page  Project l-con l-kcon l-kon 18th june 1994  what I have found, and in the hope that more will come to light, but after 30 years or more this may proove difficult.

Kiseki Films 93-96

 Kiseki Films, and distrobution label 'PARADOX FILMS' (London) Ltd, reach a deal with LA HERO (a leading American Anime label), who's parent Animation company is the Tokyo based 'The Hero Studio', in mid 1993.  

The work in JUNE 2023 continues; Kiseki Films Press releases. 

Geoff Cowie Wrote in December of 1994, as part of his 'Complete UK Anime Guide' (UK-PAL). Featuring over 120 Video reviews, the following;

"Most UK releases are dubbed into english.   A minority are subtitled, and even fewer are available in both formats."

"British videotapes are among the cheapest in the World.   Few full-length Anime tapes cost more than £12.99 (R.R.P.)."   

"Some distributors price according to length, with many tapes under 50 Mins costing less than £10, and half hour tapes costing from £5.99."

From the mid 1980's to the early to mid 1990's.

 Now with the end of May 2023, in sight, adding and  uploading more photographic evidences for the pictoral record, as we move into early mid 1990s.

May 2023, I have finally finished working on the 1991's March 9th. Anime-Day (THE UK's FIRST ANIME CONVENTION) blog pgae, with evey bit of printed, or handwritern correspondence, Advertisments, photos, Convention Booklet scans, Pre-Convention Reports, Post Convention thoughts, from attendees, and the organisers.  And with 100 people,  meny of whom where meeting for the first time, and a small core Fandom of Pen-Pals also got to see each other too. I would think that it was about 5/6 of the National total of the UK's Anime Fandom showing up to watch Anime they had not seen before.

March 1991 Pt.1 ANIME DAY – The first Anime convention in the UK

For me, May 2023, has seen its ups and downs regarding my health, but I try to UPload what I can, to the NEW Pages, and discover, photoghaphs and edit, and transcribe (takes more time for a Dylexsic, on top of my illness) the writern word for you to be able to see the Data more clearly. 

Adding to "A Harmony of Robot invaders."  the 1980's timeline....

In March of 1987 the reviewer Phil Fances, in that month's issue of 'White Dwarf Magazine - The Role-Playing Games Monthly' (Issue 87), does use the Word "Anime", but in keeping with a lightharted tone, refers to it as "what the Japanese call their giant robot cartoons", and in both the reviews of 'MEKTON' and its Expantion rule set 'Roadstriker', you can note the phrase "in the best possible taste", that to my mind brings up a 'catch-phrase from comedian Kenny Everett. - Note that the 1980's the Retail and mail order Company 'GAMES WORKSHOP' was quite differant than its post 2000 counterpart, and was a haven for Role playing games, Novels, and War games, of Science Fiction, and Fantasy, and other well known IPs, not just its own games and minitures!

[NOTE: So far I have not found any more writings, or advertisements in regards to Anime, or the American games of Battletech or Mekton in the 1980's issues of White Dwarf Magazine.

A three day Anime conventions hosted in Birmingham (North, England).

The Eighth of the UK's Anime Convetions, and third being in the ContanimeT series, and lasting three days.

Birmingham's   ReConTanimeTed 1995  3-5 NOVEMBER 1995.

The UK's Tenth Anime Convemtion.  The last of the ContanimeT three day Anime conventions hosted in Birmingham (North, England).

[NOTE: the UK'S Ninth Anime Convention was Minami Con July 21, 1995; a one Day Convention.]

April 2023 dealing with terminal Cancer!

 April 2023, I am still working on March 9th. 1991 Anime-Day (THE UK's FIRST ANIME CONVENTION), more than a year since my article in NEO Magazine, as I also have been fleshing out the 1980's manga comics books section, and all things AKIRA... and adding new PAGES; timeline-data-facts, Anime Day 0092 Con in the pocket,  all the while dealing with terminal Cancer!

My hope as always is that a talking point is started, in looking back at those early days of being an Anime and Manga fan, either making a comparison, or a fond nostalgic memory.

This March\April (2023), while I have the time, I would like to THANK my friends in Anime, that have supported me, by any means, or that I have bugged!!;
